Rose Water Rave

July 11, 2019

Hello, natural skin and hair care lovers! It's summer again and I can't believe how time flies by!

It's been a long time since I last posted a blog article. Those of you closer to us know that I have been a little busy and preoccupied with our baby boy Theodore, who was born in October 2018. By the way, he's been coming with us to the office ever since he was a week old, so I've never really lost my passion for our products, and in the meantime we managed to introduce and launch a couple of new products to our hair care range - the Essential Bliss Conditioner and Leave - in Conditioner. They are also due separate blog posts to thoroughly explain their use and benefits. Tas, of course, is the best person to talk about hair. We are planning a series of tutorial videos, where he will be showing how to use our products, so it might be a good idea for you to keep an eye on our social profiles @zenonkitionlondon. Another reason to follow and subscribe to our email list is that we inform you of deals, sales and discounts, that we regularly do and generally keep you up to date with where we are at.

On to the topic of today's post though. I want to rave about rose water or as it is also known the Floral Beauty Mist. This single product would probably have to be my favourite, most used and beneficial in many ways product, which I have literally incorporated in my every day, all day skin and hair care routines. I use it from the morning when I open up my eyes, till the evening before I go to sleep. Here is an example of one day, in which I take care of my skin and hair in a 100 % natural way. What products I would use and how I would use them, from am to pm:

7 am - the day starts with either a face wash with tap water or a wash using our pure rose water on a cotton ball. If I had washed with tap water, I follow up with a few sprays of rose water for pH-balance and toning. The scent of distilled rose petals wakes me up gently and puts my mind in a positive frame. While skin is still moist I take a few drops of our Rosehip Seed Oil, warm it up between my palms and tap, and spread it gently and evenly onto my face. This is my morning routine now, during the hotter summer days. During winter mornings, and especially if I'm going out, I like to apply something a little bit more moisturising and protective against the elements - our Hemp and Grapeseed oil face moisturiser.

7:30 am - if I'm going to the office or am required to put some make up on, that will follow right after the toning and moisturising I have already done and finish with rose water. By applying rose water to the face in the end of a make-up routine, I set the products better and I give my look a dewy, natural glow.

10 am - if it is a hair wash day and I'm at home, I would do my usual ritual with our shampoo, conditioner and leave-in conditioner, but before I apply the last product, the leave-in conditioner, I would spray very well my scalp and hair lengths with rose water to give them an additional boost of love. What that does actually is, it balances the pH, helps it grow, fortifies the scalp, calms it down, if red or irritated for some reason, closes the hair cuticle to protect it better and makes me feel like I take the best possible care of myself by doing something so simple and beneficial. I'm not even mentioning the amazing smell or roses and how soothing it is for the whole being. Hair ritual finishes with a few sprays of our Essential Bliss Leave-in Conditioner and leaving my hair to air-dry on a warm day.

At any time during the day, if I need a refreshing of the skin, I would spray rose water and depending on how I feel, would probably add a few drops of our pure Hemps seed oil. It's a very light, dry oil, which is suitable for all skin types and is absorbed quickly.

10 pm - time for cleansing, toning and moisturising again. Cleaning of the face of make-up or just general impurities happens very non-offensive and caring way for the eyes and skin. Once you try this method, you will see how effective it is and will never go back to using anything else for make-up removing. All my life before finding this method, I have suffered with irritated, sore, itchy eyes, even difficulty with seeing, after using all sort of alcohol based cleaning methods. Anyway, the way this works is by spraying rose water on a cotton ball, adding a few drops of cold pressed vegetable oil (olive, hemp or rosehip) onto the same cotton ball so that oils and water can work together, and slowly cleansing the face of all impurities, without stripping the epidermis of valuable oils. In fact, this way we care for our skin even more and nourish it much better. Once face and neck are clean, a rinse with tap water can be nice or straight onto the toning, which is simple, as always, as it includes just spraying with the Floral Beauty Mist. Now the skin is ready to be moisturised with something luxuriously rich and natural like the Hemp and Grapeseed oil face moisturiser

If I've had a shower or a bath at this point too, I can spray my entire body with rose water before applying a body moisturiser, which could be either my favourite Original body moisturiser, which is unscented, or go a step further, if I want to fall a asleep easier and apply all over our Relaxing body moisturiser with Geranium, Clary Sage and Chamomile.

I hope you can take away a few of tips from this post with you, try them and see what works for you. As you can see the Floral Beauty Mist a.k.a. pure distilled from rose petals Rose Water can be your absolute best friend when it comes to skin and hair care. I know many of you already have followed in these foot steps and have become big fans of a few of our products. A big thank you to you, dear people! I am happy you are here!
